First Swim!

It was 90+ and sunny - the perfect day to cool off in the backyard pool. I have been jumping at the chance to get this little fish into the pool ever since we started it up about a week ago. When this perfect, perfect day came along I was as excited as a little girl at Christmas! I think Pablo had some reservations still about little PJ getting into the pool. Was he ready? Was it too cold? What if he got freaked out? Somehow, I knew my little boy wouldn't be scared. I think moms know the strengths and personalities of their kids better than anyone and I just knew he would be alright.

We started out slow, letting him explore the water between his fingers and clap the surface with his palm. There was no complaining, no whining, or sense of hesitance. He was just as he is always is- curious. Everyone was really surprised about his non-reaction, haha. I think more crying and freaking out was expected. But I knew better and I was so proud of my brave boy.

He did face plant in the water a couple of times. Twice, to be exact, haha! He'd be looking down at the water, leaning down, and SWOOP, face plant. The little gooser :)

I'm excited to get him a little floater and to spend more days together in the pool. I'd say that it feels like summer is already here, but the next day was windy, chilly, and cold. haha. I think the whole country is going through mood swings!
