Hello everyone! It's great to be able to post pictures now and show you a little bit of the house and life. I'm mostly relieved because it would have been a bummer when the baby comes and I still hadn't figured out why the pictures weren't working. So here are some pictures of Pablo's parents home!

the backyard! Pablo's dad is building a tool shed and we are in the process of removing the firewood and white bricks piled in the middle to make room for a pool. Yeah, I'm really excited for that pool!
Pablo and I are kick-starting our Melaleuca business while we're down here too. Just when we have time, with Pablo working so much. It's pretty fun to do a little bit at a time and cool to see our efforts get rewarded.
Life on the border with Mexico is definitively a new and enlightening experience for me and Pablo. I'm brushing up on my Spanish for sure! Stores like Wal-mart and the supermarket get catastrophically busy with families from Mexico and I get a lot of looksfor being the only tall, blond-haired and blue-eyed girl around, haha. But I like to grab Pablo's arm and give him a peck on the cheek when I see people looking because I know it makes Pablo feel like a million dollars :)
One thing that is pretty great about being here is the tacos. You are never far from a taco place down here and it is all authentic. I mean, we're practically living in the U.S version of Mexico, how much more authentic can you get without actually getting a passport? There are so many meats to choose from too! There's guisada (stewed meat), picadillo (corned meat), carnitas (beef), carne asada, chicharron (fried pork skin), barbacoa (meat of a pig's face all cooked together), molleja and triepas (fried small intestine). I don't know what molleja is yet, and I forgot what carne asada is, but I've tried all the others. Tacos have grown on me, but I do miss some comforts from home. I have a list of foods I want to eat when I visit my family in Nebraska that aren't available here:
Chicken and dumplings
artisan breads (any: foccaccia, ciabatta, etc.) with cheese (other than queso fresco)
Keebler's Grasshopper cookies (I looked EVERYWHERE for these!)
ravioli with pasta sauce and garlic bread
Any Italian food or Midwest food really:)
The taco pictured above is a plain brisket taco; one of my less adventurous days, haha. I wanted to get a picture of triepas, fried small intestine, but they were all out when Pablo ordered one for himself.
Pablo has had some great news at work! After only 2 months working at the area casino as a kitchen head cook he was given a promotion to kitchen supervisor! Now, there is a rule that you have to have been there for at least 6 months before being considered for promotion, but I guess Pablo really made an impression! It was great to see such blessings coming our way after making the difficult decision to move here before going on to grad school. We prayed for an opportunity to make and save money for school as well as take care of our baby and felt this was the place we were supposed to be. Sometimes it isn't easy, but we feel the blessing coming in and can't deny that this is helping our future :)
We love and miss all of you!
