Latin Dancing

There is alot you learn about a person when you live with them. Their habits, likes, dislikes, strenghts, weakness... you get the idea. Pablo and I have a lot of things in common- I got so lucky with this guy. We both love to play/watch soccer all year round, foot network channel competitions, the Real Housewifes of Beverly Hills and latin dancing. Which we went again for the first time in almost a year. It was great! Bachata is my favorite, followed by the learning the steps to the Waka-Waka (South Africa 2010 theme). But it defineatly made me think of something. There are a lot of things that Pablo and I dont have in common. Rhythm being one of those things. He has it, and I, unfortuneatly, do not.
This last month we had a lot of fun selling our contract and negotiating with our potential renters. And by fun I mean that it took a couple of days of calling back and forth between 3 parties- trying to compromise, make plans and a lot of convincing people. Just like I have no rhythm, I also have no bargaining or mathmatical skills! My skill is with people and conversation. Pablo is defineatly the man who knows how much we can afford to spend here, put away here and plan for in the future. I loved watching our strengths coming together to work out everything. I would lead the tours through our apartment, take questions and hold conversation with the interested couples- and once it came to the technicalities, payments, contracts, etc Pablo took over with his expertise. Watching us work together made me smile.
I'm okay with having no rhythm. I'm sure with practice I might actually be able to do the basic steps with some grace. Right now, I am loving the differences Pablo and I have. It's like we fit together like a puzzle. He fills in the gaps that I haven't quite been able to perfect, and vice versa. How could we admire each other if we were all the same?
So thats what I was thinking about while I struggled with Salsa steps and Pablo was laughing (lovingly) as he lead me smoothly into each step with ease. I love that man mucho mucho. I am so grateful for him! I'm glad I found my better half :)

Hearts and Hugs

14 hearts with fourteen memories
one heart to put up each morning
Three years ago, for our first Valentines day, Pablo and I were in the middle of a 4 month long-distance relationship. We opened our Valentine gifts from each other while on the phone. That year he bought me a silver necklace with two inter-twined hearts. I wanted to remind us of that first Valentine's Day. So for the 14th heart, I tried my best to draw those same hearts.
Valentine's Day this year was a simple but perfect one. Pablo fired up steak and homemade rolls while I opened up the Bachata station on Pandora. We had sparkling red grape soda, beautiful flowers from Pablo, candles, music and good conversion. It was quiet and romantic.

I hope that all of you enjoyed a happy Valentines Day with the ones you love the most!
And Pablo and I are excited to move into our new place! That's right, we're moving to a small place about 7 miles north. We'll have a garage, backyard, gas fireplace and a view of the Teton mountains. How exciting! We will miss our first apartment together though. We've spent a year and a half in this same apartment! I'll be sure to post pictures of our new place when everythings in place and organized again. But for now, a goodbye shot of our first home:)
