Mela-Mela-leuca!!!

It's that time of year again-time for the Melaleuca Picnic! It's a time for free cotton candy and soda, all the bbq you could possibly eat in 5 hours and free prizes. This year we got a great spot sitting with some friends; of whom all of us had been at the Extreme race earlier that morning- we clean up pretty nice, huh?
Pablo and our friend Miguel won a competition game while we were there and both won movie money and gift cards to a bar and grill place close by. Did someone say date night? haha.

I also got a little lucky. This year they had a helicopter fly overhead and throw down buckets of ping-pongs, each marked with a number 1-3. Chaos reigned as people fought and scrambled to pick up as many ping pongs as they could. Pablo was smart, instead of looking up at the helicopter and watching all the ping pongs fall, he looked on the ground- he ended up getting 8 ping-pongs! I was one of those people staring as the balls fall from far above us and only ended up getting 1 ping pong. What can I say? Some of the people there were willing to get much more aggressive than me. Either way, It ended up with a surprise ending. We ran up the hill to get the prize associated with the number on our ping pongs and I began to realize that no one else around me had a 3 on their ping pong except me. So I was pretty sure that I had a lucky ping pong in my hands...
I have never had an iPod of any kind before! I can't wait to open it up and use it during my workouts! Thank you Melaleuca for treating my husband nice, helping us pay our bills and giving out free gifts and food at your partys. We are so blessed:)

Who's afraid of a little mud stain?

We aren't! My good friend Carolina and I ran our first ever Extreme race; 3 miles of mud pits, river crossings, fire leaps and hay walls. It was most definately my favorite race to date!

I finished 66th out of 200 runners and Carolina finished soon after. Its exciting to see how far hard work can take you and I couldn't be prouder of how Carolina and I did! Plus, it was just fun to get wet and muddy:)

Summer 2011 Soccer Champions!
After 3 semesters of playing together, we made it to #1

Lorelle and I Showing off our Champions shirt- "the most coveted shirt on campus"

So the soccer season is over for us here at school for the summer, but it had a happy ending. Pablo's competitive team made it all the way to semi-finals and Laura's team ended tied for second. Our RecSports team finailly won the coveted #1 spot for Intermediate soccer! We have been playing for about 3 semesters together, everytime trying our hardest. This season was no picnic, and the championship game took everything we had against a really good team- but we kept our goal and ended the game 1-0!
We still have our soccer banquet and the men's and women's competitive championships game coming. Pablo and I will just be spectators, but both have friends we will be rooting for! My friend Lorelle, above picture, will be playing for her team- wish her luck!
We are excited for the soccer banquet, there is an announcement we can't wait to tell everyone but I dont't think it can come out until they announce it there... So we'll be back on that!
