Free Smells

It was that time again; time for the house to smell like chocolate cake and the refrigerator to be full of german coconut filling, fondant, and icings of all flavors. Yep, Pablo had another wedding cake this past weekend!
My favorite is assembling the cake at the reception. When we show up, the cake is in 3 parts, with none of the ribbons or flowers yet. Then we put the pieces together, wrap the ribbon around and Pablo artistically places his flowers. Seeing the cake together with the rest of the wedding decorations and realizing that we have added to someone's special day makes the all the hardwork and stress of the previous days worth it. My favorite part of this particular cake is the calla lilies; homemade, by Pablo, with gum paste and fondant, then brushed with an edible powder dust. Even the small pearls are edible! There was the cutest kids watching us put the cake together and they got a kick out of eating the extra pearls I brought:) All in all, the cake was a major success and I am reminded once again how lucky I am to have such a talented husband. Here's to another Sweet Weddings success!

Christmas Revisited

Hello friends and family! The first week of 2012 has already been busy and, admittently, a little stressful. We posted pretty much everything we own for sell on Jan 2 and now, 6 days later, our house is close to empty; devoid of couches, beds, dressers, kitchen table, etc. All in all, the BYU-Idaho Bulletin Board is very efficient! We have a month and 3 weeks still in Rexburg so we figure that is more than enough time to pack up the little we have left and prepare for our move to Texas.
I wanted to post some more pictures of Christmas for my parents who werent able to be there with us and might not be satisfied with a picture of a Christmas tree to demonstrate our Christmas holiday in Utah, haha. My camera broke after graduation, so I have to thank Pablo's sister for taking these pictures and sending them to me.
